What is the Oregon Beer Awards?
Founded in 2015, the OBA’s bestows medals multiple beer categories and industry categories after 1,200 craft beers from across the state are tasted in a double-blind judging weekend by a panel of 100 diverse, expert judges. Winners are announced during a celebratory ceremony, where an OBA Hall of Fame induction also occurs. Nicknamed the “Academy Awards of Beer” this event is both a raucous reunion of brewers and beer lovers and a notable celebration of outstanding beers and breweries in over 35 categories. Willamette Week produces this event, but the competition is executed by a team of amazing beer stewards.
